【Theme of the Design—“Science & Future”】
The entries should display both technology integrating knowledge and innovation and future driven by the needs of human instinct, and finally taking the advanced technology and future as concept, create a harmonious future of “human·car·life ”.
【Concept of the Design】
Design the Future Lifestyle of the “QUICK” Group
Design Background：
In the next 5 to 20 years, what kinds of change will be happened about “human·car·life ”? Facing the future, all of us have a common dream—mutual harmony of “human, car, nature and future”.
Design Target：
Please design a car for the “QUICK” group (people who are between 20 to 28 years old and just step into the society) to meet their inner demands against the background of future lifestyle—“harmony”.
The “QUICK” Group:
Q——Quality. They are fighting for their newly-started career but they will never stop in their indefinite pursuit of life quality.
U——Unique. They are in pursuit of personality, uniqueness but are not willing to be regarded as abnormal.
I——International. Their life and mentality are both international.
C——Contradictory. They are the focus of contradictory: Their pace of life is very fast, yet they are not satisfied with cursory-like life and happiness is their ultimate goal; they must have a car, however, they are environmentalists and "green" concept deeply rooted in their hearts; they are in pursuit of stimulation, but pay more attention to health and safety of others and their own; they like the ever-changing world, but sometimes they need to find inner peace and calm; they often enjoy single or two-person world, but also cherish the days of family gatherings and will not miss any activities in their circle.
K——Knowledgeable. They are very knowledgeable with high-tech and virtual
world as the keywords of their life.
Concept explanation of future lifestyle:
Participants are required to describe life scenes of one or several characters through a paragraph of words (concept explanation of future lifestyle) to fully reflect the characteristics of the "QUICK" groups, and use this description as the functional design source of the concept car.
Requirements of the design
1. To design a passenger car by using new-energy.
2. The design should display the theme of “Science & Future” and be creative.
3. To apply the design concept of “future lifestyle” to the entries; focus on the functional requirement of future lifestyle of the “QUICK” group; form a “conceptual explanation of future lifestyle”.
4. “Conceptual explanation of future lifestyle” should be logical with clear concept and farsighted view, and closely integrate auto design with future lifestyle.
5. The entries should clearly express the design connotation.
6. The entries should have high completion rate, cater for common beauty taste and display difference with present model.
Students from global design academies and auto design enthusiasts are all eligible.
Both individuals and groups (with a maximum of three members) are eligible to participate in the Contest, which only has one category for individual and group entrants;

【Contest Process】
The first phase Campus road performance and entry register: from Sep. 1 to Nov. 30, 2009
In this phase, the Contest Organization Committee will make road performance and publicity in Chinese five top universities. At the same time, invite global design and engineering academies to participate in this Contest. China Auto Design Education Alliance will also actively attend the preparation entry for this Contest.
The register period for the Contest is from Sep. 1 to Nov. 30, 2009, the entrants can register on the official website of the Contest.
The second phase Preliminary entries submission: from Dec. 1 to 20, 2009 1.The entrants should submit their entries with electronic edition before the deadline, detailed contents see below：
（1）Concept explanation for future lifestyle
The entrant should judge and assume the future lifestyle of the “QUICK” group accordingly, focusing on the requirement of future lifestyle to display the functional demand of auto model. The contents include,
Name of the entry: the name should highly summarize the design concept of the entrant. (No more than 10 words. the domestic entrant should have both English and Chinese version, the overseas entrant can use English only.)
Scene design: describe one or several people’s lives scenes of the “QUICK” group in the next 5 or 20 years. Through individual wants and likes, life scenes and ambiance to show the functional requirement of auto feature. The scenes should display the theme of “Science & Future”.
For domestic entrant, please describe such scene with both Chinese and English with less than 600 words; for overseas entrant, please write it in English with less than 600 words.
The entry should focus on concept explanation.
（2）Design sketch and explanation. The design draft should display the entrant’s development process of auto concept.
（3）Effect drawing and three-view drawing
2. The design sketch submitted should be in electronic version in jpg file format with A3 size (297mm× 420mm), no larger than 1M with the resolution of 200dpi.
The third phase First assessment； From Jan. 4 to 12, 2010 After the first assessment, the finalists will be notified on the official website of the Contest.
The fourth phase Finals: from Jan. 15 to the end of Jan, 2009. The date of final assessment is from Jan. 15 to 21, 2010.
In the end of January 2010, the Organization Committee will notify some winners of Great Awards to develop car model with the proportion of 1:4, at the same time, provide them allowance for car model production and transport.
The fifth phase E-TEST network test: from Mar. 1 to Apr. 10, 2009.
The award-winning works will be tested through the network of conceptual product design according to the characteristics of the “QUICK” group. And the test results will be compared to the evaluation results of the jury to get an analysis report of contest design works with characteristics of consumer groups embodied in.
The sixth phase Car mode submission: from April 1 to 10, 2010
The winners will submit their car models to the specified address in the period from April 1 to 10.
The seventh phase Award ceremony and exhibition: from April 23 to May 2, 2010
The Awards Ceremony will be held in “2010 (11th) Beijing International Auto Exhibition” on April 23, 2010. At the same time, the analysis report of contest design works will be released and award-winning car models will be displayed during the auto exhibition.
