Just a quick tip - for your renders extended the floor out as far as you need to get it to fill your render photo. Also you should experiment with a radius on the floor and side wall. If you build a simple line shape and extrude it you can do this. Or alternatively just join the two solids you have and select a radius - makes it look like a seemless backround and not a "computer render" -
Oh, and if you put some other elements in that cant be seen by the photograph they will add some reflection to your aluminium which makes it look more visually interesting.

Thanks bro. tryd it out and sort of workd sweet, although for some reason now a big bright patch appears infront of the table from any angle, any ideas why? its not so bad in this pic but it shows up in the blue shaded section in lots of others, this is my latest one.

its looking cool bro . for the render try:
giveing all ur edges a small radius this will give a nice highlight on the edges.
also make sure u have at least 3 light soruces of varying intensity, this will help withh ur blown out areas. another tip is to put an omni light inside ur cavity on a really low intesity just to give some definition.
